English In the freshman year literature is organized according to themes and in the sophomore year according to types. Junior students may choose courses emphasizing business English, creative writing, journalism, or modern litera- ture instead of the regular course of American literature. English literature is studied in the senior year. Juniors and seniors may study speech as an elective.
