X, With The aid of some of his students, Mr. Carl Hines and his Geometry l class examine the models of parabolas, hyperbolas, and ellipses formed by intersection of planes through three dimensional obiects. Geometry also includes the study of angles and planes to math students. 20 Demonstrating The solving of an equation on the board during Calculus class is Mr. Robert Carr. A previous four years of math are required before Taking Calculus. X Solving and analyzing a complex problem during his Algebra 3 class is Junior Jerry Booth. Algebra 3 may also be doubled with Geometry and taken during a student's sophomore year. This enables the student to enroll in five years of mathematics.

ABOVE-During a Biology field trip Mr. Randy Lamb studied the Goldenrod for various species of in- sects. The Biology I classes are required to collect and mount various insects. The classes also are required to turn in a leaf collection of at least fifty species of leaves. Pat inspect animal life in Zoology Marshall's S c i e n c e Department headed by Mr. Robert Weaver placed special emphasis this year on the naturalists's point of view. This was the first year for Zoology and Advanced Biology. They were taught by Mr. Randy Lamb and Mr. Robert Weaver and are offered to both iuniors and seniors. A fall in- sect count was one of many class proiects in Zoology. Some permanent inhabitants were introduced to their new homes in the Zoology classroom. They included such friendly individuals as an alli- gator, a lizard, iguanas, tarantulas, and a spotted gecko. They were cared for by students from the vari- ous science classes. ' Q -nun., ff 5' we f 2 Q . i 'sal nt. , V Above-Dissecting fetal pigs is one of many dissecting Labs that Biology students are required to do. Students are tested on both internal and external anatomy of the animal. ' Left-Physics teacher, Mr. Beniegerdes, lectures his class on , ' the concepts of time, speed, and distance. The class also learns the use of the slide rule.
