TIME FOR HITTING THE BUCKS Have pages Q8 through 115 read by Monday for the auiz and don't forget the vocabu- lary test on Tuesday, exhort- ed the teacher on Friday. Groans, resigned expressions, and pleas of Oh, come on, not for the weekend, and We can't have a test on Monf day, answered the anf nouncement. After getting a homework assignment like this, most stuf dents threw their books in the corner until Sunday. Vince Roe mans, senior, left his home- work as long as possible. l'Around midnight on Sunday, saw Vince's homework. A few people, however, did get their homework done on Friday night. Friday, when I get home from school, I turn on the radio and do my homework, revealed sophomore Brian 40 if Academic, Swick. Then, of course, there were the ones who really put it off. Monday morning, said junior Floyd Hansen, I like to do my homework in a quiet room where my btother's not complaining. Although complaints were a constant companion of home- work, most students managed to get through it. Changes in graduation requirements and the rising gradepoint averages of many colleges made home- work important. Also, aca- demic scholarships were highly sought as tuitions continued to climb, When everything was con- sidered, homework, while un- popular, was necessary to ade- quately prepare students for the changing demands of high- er education. l' avi? r Hex? in gy mc y , ig S .R n- ifggw, at 0 4 Q' QQ is ws ,gt wr' mmf' SEW WHAT Home Economics classes at SNORE Senior Michael Bonaduce snuggles Marshall provided a variety of workable up to a good book in the Social Studies machines to choose from to further the Resource Center The softer chairs pro- textile trade vided comfy territory for students
