LeBaron's hopes were realized as Marshall beat Franklin not once but twice during the season, Franklin was Marshall's season opener in which 'Charles Gould did an excellent job pitching, described Le- Baron, Hand a good job on defense. Before the beginning of regular season play each year, the Diamond Classic takes place at Skavone Field in Westmoreland Park. Only one team came out ahead of Marshall at the Classic, Franklin.
