LeBaron's hopes were realized as Marshall beat Franklin not once but twice during the season, Franklin was Marshall's season opener in which 'Charles Gould did an excellent job pitching, described Le- Baron, Hand a good job on defense. The close games show that we fight hard and that we can play anybody in the league, explained senior Terry Paresi, Paresi made second team All-City along with junior Robert Key. Before the beginning of regular season play each year, the Diamond Classic takes place at Skavone Field in Westmoreland Park. Only one team came out ahead of Marshall at the Classic, Franklin. Two wins and a loss against Franklin resulted in second place for the MeMen, Two games were rained out.
