Do-re-mi- fa-so . . . The scales filled the halls of Iohn Marshall at Christmas time, in numerous assemblies and concerts. In- strumental as well as vocal music comprises the musical curriculum. The music department offers several courses to musically inclined students. Beginning band is open to frosh and sopho- mores. After further develop- ment of musical skills, one can take intermediate band. Mem- bers selected by their instruct- or take advanced band. Other courses offered are beginning orchestra and advanced orch- estra. There are four various choirs which, are available. These include instruction on vocal abilities and onthe basic fundamentals of music. Other courses include understanding music, and ensemble. Band members ready to play at the drop of a hand. Freshmen are introduced to wood- working, metal work, mechanical drawing, and electronics. VVhen completed one can take advanced courses in specialized areas. Woodworking students are taught how to finish woods, make cabinets and how to construct homes.
