The courses offered at Marshall are: general math, two courses in algebra as well as geometry, senior math, consumer math and refresher math. There is an annual city-wide competition for better math students in which students receive certificates for displaying high math ability. This year, for the first time math projects were assigned. These were similar to a term paper on some phase of math, which added more interest and study for the students. In the math resource center students and teachers both can work on projects or assign- ments. Private conferences are also arranged in the resource center between teachers and students. Sophomore Bob Anholt works on his math in the math resource center. fe

Thi system has proven quite sucf cessful. Language students study thelr oral presentation during their lnde- ' pendent study time.
