I I I According to tradition, pet- itions were acquired by those students who wished to run for student body offices. . They were signed and returned as the candidates busily began writing their speeches. In an all- schoolassembly, the speeches were delivered and extemporan- eous topics were drawn and spoken on by the candidates running for Vice-President and President. A sigh ofrelief was given by the candidates as the assemblycame toa close. The voting booths opened, and the student body elected their lead- ers for spring, The results were learned and the new- officers began their planning for the term.
