Special Education -., X'-'Q' Ng H7 Wilma Stone-Department Chairman Special Education Christine McKee Communications is concerned with teaching a student how to best express himself to others. Mrs. Sally Smith instructs students in speech and drama, allowing a stu- dent to openly express himself through voice and movement. Mr. Arthur Johnson helps students learn to express themselves through writ- ing, and the use of pictures by sponsoring the Horn yearbook, the Rampage newspaper, and teaching the Journalism classes. Special Education The Special Education Department was developed to benefit those students who were not able to keep up with the studies ofa reg- ular course. ln this department, each student can develop his own creativity at his own speed. It allows an individual to expand his knowledge according to his own capabilities. Health Occupations Health Occupations is a program established for those students who hope to pursue a career in a health related tield. This program includes classroom study on campus and a portion of the day spent working in various doc- tors' offices. Mrs. Edna Kyle places students in different medical offices according to their individual interests and abilities. Students receive classroom instruction in farm techniques, and then in Farm Cooperative they are given the chance to exercise their newly acquired skills. Students in the Agriculture Department win many awards for outstanding work in all phases of agriculture, horticulture, farm power and equipment and other related fields.
