District, Goes to State Robert Wood crosses the finish line to win the district 880 yard run Luke Southard exerts himself in the pole vault competition 1975 proved to be one of the most pros- perous years ever for a Marshall track team. Starting the year with many able per- formers, Coach Don Hardin's clan was destined for success. The Rams took third in the Alamo Relays, with Ed Barry break- ing meet records in both the Shot-Put and Discus. In the South San Relays, Marshall captured its first track meet title in ten years with a first place finish. The District meet, in which the Rams placed a strong third, saw Barry defend his Shot-Put title with a record toss of 57'- 5W', and finish second in the Discus. Rob- ert Wood captured the 880 yard run, and Harold James took second place in the 440 yard run.
