Cagers Have Exciting Year Paced by the scoring of All-District forward Ken Hamilton, the Marshall varsity basketball team participated in one of its most exciting seasons ever. Of Marshall's 32 games, in which they earned a 14-18 record, twelve games were decided by seven points or lessg five of these contests were district matches. But the emergence of three powerhouse teams, Jeffer- son, Lee and Holmes in District 31-AAAA was a contributing factor to another non-title year for the Rams. Junior Ken Hamiltonis 17.4 scoringzaverage for the 1974-'75 season helped earn him a spot on the 31-AAAA All-District team. Ham- ilton finished as the second leading scorer in District. Senior Dan Murphy was named to the All-District second team. Injuries played a key role in the basketball spotlight, as Dan Murphy was sidelined through the early portion of the season with a back ailment. Kevin Trimble, 6'5,' letter- man, missed most of district competition due to a knee injury which also hampered his play early in the year. Performances by Wesley Becker, Tom Lo- pez, Steve Goodman, and Mark Lutz kept the Rams in the thick of district competition, and all contributed greatly to the Marshall basket- ball season. 1 2 ss a 1 2' .
