Promising Fu ture for Gridders in This Building Year, John Marshall begins a new era of football in 1974. as Gene Qualls. and a capable staff of as- sistants, take over the coaching responsibilities: and institute a new system that will surely re- sult in consistent winning football in the years to come. Winning the first two games of the season over Austin Anderson l4-6, and New Braunfels 35-13, Marshall proceeds. in this Hbuildingl' year, to lose seven of their last eight games. Only a victory over Edison. keep the Rams out of last place in the District 31-AAAA standings. Although the Rams compile a bleak 3-7 record, the team is heavily ladened with underclassmen that should form a nucleus for a competitive season in 1975. Harold James follows the blocking of his teammates. Todd Chevesl pass seems suspended in mid-air, awaiting a receiver. Two Huskies attempt to bring down a Marshall ball carrier Ken Logan lunges for the ball. Football has its ups and downs.
