Considering that this was Marshall's lirst year, the record was even more impressive. City conference victims were Custer, King, Bay View, Washington, West, East, and Boy's Tech. The biggest upset came in a 19-17 conquest of East which had been previously beaten by only top ranking Pulaski. In the City Individual Championships Marshall was represented by Walt Ladik, who finished second, and Bob Kurzer and jim Justus who linished fourth in their respective weight classes. Marshall also held its own in the State Sectional by placing second with 79 points. Marshall produced four winners, Bob Kurzer, Bill Cech, Chuck Hackney, and Walt Ladik in this sectional.
