They defeated Oak Creek's B team, Custer's B team, Pius's B team, and King's B team. The team members who carried most of the load this year were linemen Bob Berdan, jim Justus, Dan Nemoir, and Ken Oliver. Dave Ovshak, Scott Riewer, Keith Shep- ard, and Dick VVitte were the major players who com- posed the backfield. These boys could not have done the whole job alone. They were backed by Mike Schnuck, Ray Fuchs, Tom Wliederstein, Jerry lfVolfgram, Mike Kestin, Chuck Hackney, and others. Showing steady im- provement this year, many of these boys could be assets to the team in the future. The sophomore team also showed many prospects, con- sidering that a number of the best sophomores played with the varsity team throughout the year. The sopho- more record of live wins and one loss is a good indication that in years to come, Marshall should become one of the major contenders for the city conference crown. 'When asked for a comment, Head Coach Ray Hend- rickson repliedj VVith the addition of the top sopho- mores to the varsity team, Marshall should become a representative team next year. Mfith luck and exceptional improvement, we could surprise many of the top city conference teams. Keith Shepard displays his familiar cut around a fallen Pills foe. One thing I'd like to say is: P1IS1l7lt8cQg'Z. That about winds it up. Three varsity reserves await orders. 7
