Stemming from the belief in representative govern- ment, the Student Council provides its members with an opportunity to develop leadership, acquire a knowledge of democratic procedures, and to serve the school in vari- ous capacities. In addition to being a representative body of student government tone representative from each homeroomj, the Student Council directs various committees which include the Noon Hour committee, the Dance committee, the Sales committee, and the Hall Monitors committee. The purpose of the Noon Hour committee is to direct activities taking place during the lunch periods. Directing visitors who come to our school and serving as ushers during various programs are the duties of the Marshallettes. The dance committee plans our various dances. The familiar sight of candy sales is the responsi- bility of the Sales committee, and the hall monitors are also a charge of the council. Meetings are bi-monthly. The presiding officers are Cathy Prochep, Presidentg Cindy Schneiderman, vice- presidentg Sandy Mfeidoif, recording secretaryg Judie Miller, corresponding secretaryg Phyllis Casalena, treas- urerg Ken Hatch, sergeant-at-armsg and Rod Sciborski, member-at-large. Mr. William Tracy is the chief adviser.
