MR. CSTERNDORF, Sr. High Vice-Principal Mr Osterndorf makes plans with Ben Shubert about the Musico. Mr. Osterndorf took an active interest in this year's variety production. Mr. Diener explams the new I.B.M. system to a future assistant, Diane Minash. The I.B.M. is a new mecha- nism for recording and issuing student's grades. Many students at Marshall have had the opportunity of working with Mr. Alan Osterndorf and Mr. Thomas Diener, vice-principals of the senior and junior high, respectively. Daily they come into contact with student leaders from many school organizations and give their help and opin- ions whenever needed or requested. The tasks of these two versatile men also include those of a more unpleasant nature. They are the wielders of the hand of the law which on occasion reaches out to wrongdoers to direct them toward worthwhile goals. Mr. Diener and Mr. Osterndorf are efiicient, competent administrators and an asset to our school, faculty, and student body. 6 MR. DIENER, Jr. High Vice-Principal

i ,, c..,,.......,...,.. l l 1 w Art classes have performed many services for the school in providing posters, charts, and decorations for dances and stage productions. Next year, it is planned that they will construct a large wooden mosaic of typical school scenes. It will be hung on the wall near the stairway of door one. Copper enameling tools, kilns, and a potter's wheel are a few of the special pieces of equipment the art de- partment has at its disposal. If enrollment warrants next year there will be jewelry and ceramics classes besides the regular art classes. Art pupils also worked on the sets for the school play and the Musico. They also contributed to the yearbook and made decorations for the school dance.

MR. WERGIN, Principal Popularity is not a necessary requirement of a school principalg however, it is one of the attributes of our principal. From the moment of his Hrst address to the student body two years ago, Mr. Oliver VVergin has sought one general goal-that of promotion of the inter- ests of John Marshall in the community, and of turning out students of the highest quality. Mr. Wergin is a very genial man, not lacking in fond- ness for the entire student body. He'demonstrates lead- ership and offers a helping hand to each student. We at Marshall feel privileged to have such a fine leader working for our school, and most important, work- ing for the betterment of the student body. The Chief hails his tribe: the tribe hails its Chief at a pep rally when Mr. Wergin addressed the cheering crowd. Each morning Mr. Vtfergin finds himself surrounded by students who make announcements to the student body. 7
