House, Mr. Denahy. the climax in service to the school and the community is attained when senior A girls are chosen to belong to the minute maids. these girls, chosen on the basis of scholarship, citizenship and serv- ice, represent the top 'lO !,, of the senior A class. the members are responsible for the polishing of the trophies in the main entrance display cases, working at the switchboard in the main office, serving at banquets, teas and din- ners, plus other activities such as sports nights, cotton and cord day and a service proiect. throughout the year these girls work hard to uphold the slogan service at a moment's notice. this year the minute maids were under the sponsorship of miss dorothy rake- straw and, since december l958, mrs. adeline richardson capably sponsored the group. this boys service organization was formed to bring service and honor to marshall. the members are se- lected on the basis of ability, out- standing citizenship and scholar- ship. the minute men are responsi- ble for many worthwhile activities throughout the school year. some of these include taking charge of military mail, raising the flag and acting as flag bearers, painting garbage cans, acting as ushers for football games, assemblies, and other activities, sponsoring sports nights and working on cotton and cord day. this group was spon- sored through the winter semes- ter by mr. richard cooper, the boys' vice-principal, and is now being sponsored by mr. denahy our new boys vice-principal.
