MR. W. BRUCE KIRKPATRICK Principal To one who has carried his arm in a sling for a portion of this semester, the temp- tation is strong to wax facetious upon the topic of What Holds Marshall To- gether? However, the subiect is a serious one for the cohesive elements of a school are too important to be treated lightly. The factors which to me seem to give this school unity are a spirit of mutual under- standing and respect between faculty and students, pride in John Marshall, and the ability of our pupils to distinguish between the times for work and the times for play. These attributes are reflected in the atti- tudes of the great maiority of Marshallites but the greater the proportion of students who contribute to these unifying influ- ences, the greater will be the power which welds our diverse personalities, interests and activities into a loyal, considerate and purposeful school community.
