ILS All Latin students recall the Latin jingle of the prepositions taking the ablatiye and the frantic moments studying the long vocabulary sheets before an anticipated pop quiz. There are, however, many more pleasant memories of the satisfactory completion of a translation of a selection from Caesaris Gallic ll'nr or from one of Cicero's orations and of the Christmas carols we sang in Latin, In French we become acquainted with the nation and her people through the French lang- uage.
