egistration made the reality of school hit a little too close to home for many students. Freshmen and juniors registered August 18 and sophomors and seniors registering August 19. After receiv- ing their Hcherishedn class schedules students were issued their ID cards and could also obtain bus cards and parking permits. Freshmen orientiton on august 23 gave ninth graders a chance to see where they would spend their next four years of school. The new students and their parents were given a tour of the campus with Stu- dent Council members serving as guides. Council members also presented a skit, How a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior Acts. But no matter what they learned that night, they would soon find out hte truth, on their own, on August 29, their first day at John Jay High School.
