The changes are obvious and com- plimentary. But upon returning to classes students noticed a change somewhere other than in fellow classmates. The changes were on the campus. A special package was approved last year and plans were approved to commence work on renovations during the summer. Renovations were made in the interior of the school as well as outside on the campus. The most noticeable renovation took place in the bathrooms in the A and B wings. Students were impressed by the change and administrators noted how well students took care of the new facilities. The breezeway and courtyard area was redone and student parking lot repaved. Ad- ministration offices were remodeled and carpeted. On one occasion when Marshall students visited the campus, they complimented the new look. If they were impressed, Jay students should definitely feel proud and take good care of the school. WF 'Q' 'V 135. Q- Qnra '-:bats N rxs- 'Q un-militia. ..., s 0 Q i Tw. ,-ok . . l' A 1 r' . . ,,. egistration made the reality of school hit a little too close to home for many students. Freshmen and juniors registered August 18 and sophomors and seniors registering August 19. After receiv- ing their Hcherishedn class schedules students were issued their ID cards and could also obtain bus cards and parking permits. Freshmen orientiton on august 23 gave ninth graders a chance to see where they would spend their next four years of school. The new students and their parents were given a tour of the campus with Stu- dent Council members serving as guides. Council members also presented a skit, How a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior Acts. But no matter what they learned that night, they would soon find out hte truth, on their own, on August 29, their first day at John Jay High School.
