Visit kept alive lthough the emphasis on instructional time being lost the honor government classes kept the tradition of visiting the Bexar County Courthouse. The visit was made to make students aware of different Court Procedures and exactly how a court session was run. Students were allowed to act out a court session with Judge Ian Lyn preciding. Other to this students toured the courthouse with Judge Rickhoff and Patreck Garza as guest speakers. lt helped me to establish a clearer perspective of the occurrences in the judicial branch of our government. All C C credit all my success to my mother. She has been behind me the whole four years, said Lillian Gutierrez. As a Presidential scholarship winner, Gutierrez, who will attend St. Mary's Univer- sity, was a member of the Spanish Club, JETS, French Club, UlL Math and Science Teams, MAO, NHS and a member of Catholic Youth Organization at her church. Following Gutierrez was John Hanley, who says the thing he remembers most in high school was The fun l had with my friends and winning second at the 1982 Water Polo Championships. Hanley received the Baumberger Endow- ment. To underclassmen he advises, Concentrate more on school rather than more fun and don't goof off during your junior and senior years. They are the most important. Make your years last because before you know it they will be gone. These are the best of times, said John James. James will further his education at St. Mary's University. He was a member of MAO, French Club, NHS, Latin Club, Spiriteers. T 5 Ten Lpy il y lIySl 'slumr I 3 J
