The Fashion Club is not only about education. but it is about fashion. It presents new fashions to students. and enables the student to present new fashion to us in our fashion shows. It was founded by black college students, who felt that black men needed to become united on the Ivy campus. The founding date was December 4, 1906. The founding fatliers were: Henry A. Callais, Charles H. Chapmen, Eugene K.jones, George B. Kelly, Natniel A. Murry, Robert H. Olgle and Vertner W. Tandy. From these seven men the brotherhood soon grew and spread across the U.S., Europe, West Indies and Africa. Alpha Phi Alpha has over 800 chapters on the graduate and undergraduate levels. It can also be said that the brotherhood has over 100,000 members active today. In Manhattan, the realm of Alphadom is under the direction Eta Chapter. This chapter was reactivated December 29, 1984 and has currently 18 members. Four of these members attend john jay. These members are Kevein Santana Fowlkes, Forrest M. Garrett, Clive Scott and Rory Thompson. The other Alpha brothers attend New York City Tech, City College, Pace and Baruch and City College.
