The Students Against War Societ Article Ill - Ideology This society. in light of the present danger of confrontation between the earth's two major superpowers, shall take the stand that war must be avoided at all cost. Any war at this time in the Earth's history' between the two major superpowers can very' well lead to a thermonuclear war that not only has the potential of fatally' eliminating hundreds of millions of human lives but also has the potential of eliminating human life in general. Therefore. this society's major stand will be against warg however. the SAW society' will welcome and encourage opinions that are in favor of war or of opinions that are infavor of preparing for war. Article IV - Purposes: Section 1. To continually discuss the moral and ethical question: Can war ever he justified? Section 2. To promote an intellectual and active participation in the john Jay' College of Criminal Justice by' holding monthly discussions concerning the present day trends toward, and away from, war. Section 3. To provide information to the students of ,Iohn Jay' College in relation to pro-draft and anti-draft movements in the event of a registration for the draft.
