Adum was one of the first thirty john jay students selected to work in the University Year for Action Program in 1974. He was assigned to the Youth Division of the NYCPD where he worked as an Investigator for 18 months. Dr. Lynch, President of john jay College, showed how much the college appreciated Adum's efforts by presenting him with a certificate of Achievement in February 1976. Adum was the President and founder of the john jay College Soccer Club!Team. He was also a member of Black Studies Society. He is a foundation member and secre- tary of the most dynamic Ghanaian Citizens Organization in the U.S., the Ghana Youngsters Club.
