I wish to extend my personal congratulations to each recipient of a degree from John Jay Col- lege during the academic year 1973-74. Our graduating class now includes both pre-service students, who have come to the college to pre- pare for service in the criminal justice system, as well as substantial numbers of students al- ready employed in that system. It is a source of satisfaction that the college is turning out so many students anxious to serve our society and its social needs, as reflected in the critical in- stitutions which constitute the criminal justice system. All of our students may take great satis- faction from the achievement which the di- ploma symbolizes. The college sincerely hopes its graduates will continue to maintain a close association and identification with the college. The Yearbook serves an important function in maintaining that association. I, therefore, extend to the edi- tors, on behalf of the entire college community, our thanks for their efforts in producing this Yearbook. Again, I extend to each graduate my con- gratulations and best wishes for continued success.
