It exonerates the trust and dedication of so many men and women to the prime importance of a full liberal arts education combined with expertise in specific areas of the field of criminal justice. The men and women who conceived of the college, who brought it into beingand nurtured its unique growth with resolve and foresight and the men and women who graduate this year can exult in the increasing fruition of John Jay College and its mission. Since it is the only four year senior college in the land, founded and committed to the field of criminal justice in its entirety, the graduates are uniquely qualified to work and grow in this field which is so germane to our nation's current dilemmas and crises. I wish you congratulations and every success upon your graduation from John Jay. l also wish that as graduates, your world-view would be based on a larger canvas, a fuller empathy and a daring resolve to continuing growth and change, that it, too, continue to be educated.
