The year 1942 marked the beginning of the Reagan Chapter gil-4 of the Junior Historians. This state-affiliated organization was instigated by Mr. Williams and reactivated fby himb in 1956. Members are accepted upon the basis of their interest in history and excellence in this subject, as well as their overall scholastic average. The club studies Texas History primarily through monthly programs and through field trips. In the past, they have visited such places as the Hogg-Varner Plantation, the San Jacinto Battlegrounds, and the Sam Houston State Park. Reagan High School consists of the president and secretary of the Sophomore, Junior, and Senior classes in addition to the ranking officers of every faculty sponsored club and individual homeroom representatives. The members of this organization endeavor to instill American ideals and to pro- mote democratic principles of government.
