FOREWO RD The theme of this year's PENNANT is TIME, which we have striven to depict on the book's division pages. In choosing this theme, we had in mind first and foremost appreciation for the Time Mr. Williams has been con- nected with Reagan, chiefly as Principal, from 1932-1958. It also represents the Time of this particular year, 1957-1958, for all of us here at Reagan, with the hope that in these nine months we have grown in knowledge, char- acter, and friendships. In yet another sense it is the Time of Life in general, which is given us to spend maturing as individuals, with always the goal ahead of leaving the niche of the world we occupy a better place than we found it. Take time to live- that is what time is for. Take time to work- it is the price of success. Take time to play- it is the fountain of wisdom. Take time to be friendly- it is the road to happiness. Take time to laugh- it.is the music of the soul. Take time to be courteous- it is the mark of a gentleman.

wt We Q Reagan, 1926 Reagan, 1958 1926 saw the erection of the John H. Reagan Senior High School. The picture above shows that its east wall included the main entrance. A steel strip across the floors of the three corridors indicates this on the inside of the building. This cuts off all rooms east of rooms 108, 214, and 314. 1929 saw the remainder of the classrooms, the auditorium, the industrial arts building, and the boys' gym built. Heretofore the girls' gym had been used for both boys' and girls' physical education classes. To round out the building as it now stands, the Home Economics wing was added. From Heights High to John H. Reagan Senior High When Reagan opened in 1926, a ceremony took place in the form of a march from the Heights High building fnow the Hamilton Junior High Schooll to the new building, preceded by a band. This is a shot of that significant trek. Notice Heights Boulevard, sans pavement.
