Mens sana in corpore sano -a sound mind in a sound hody-is the belief of the Physical Education De- partment of the modern high school. and such a wide variety of activities are offered as to meet the interest of every student. Reagan has won her share of competitive sports from girls' volleyhall to hoys' foothall. going on to win state honors since 1932 in Track fourteen times. Swimming four. and Tennis once. But winning with the few is secondary to keeping the many physically fit. so emphasis is placed on seeing that every student is given both the theory and practice of three full years of physical education. M, We wif.. Y-- f-ft. , . 1 DEPARTMENT HEAD Mrs. Clark Mrs. Enrollment in the Art Department has increased the faculty from one teacher to that of three since 1932. The course now consists of four years of credit work in the Fine Arts and one year each in Crafts and Com- mercial Art. Art students delight in rendering service to the school in various ways. such as decorating and advertising for school events and keeping the exhihit cases on the second and third floors filled with intriguing displays. They also participate annually in many contests and exhibits, Maurine D. Clark, Mrs. Madeleine D. Koster. such as the Students' Spring Exhibition at the lVluseum of Fine Arts. the Scholastic Art awards. the Houston Beautiful Campaign.
