The requirements and standards for getting into the Glee Club are very high. Above all, the girls must have excellent conduct. They also have to have some knowledge of music, preferably Music 1, 2, 3, and 4. The girls' favorite songs are: The Lord is My Shepherd, The Heavens are Telling, Alleluja, Beautiful Savior, and es- pecially liked is Eternal Life. This year the club was privileged to sing with the combined music groups at the Texas State Teachers Association Convention. Along with hard work, the girls also have their fun. The most enjoyable outside, activity is the annual picnic and initiation, which is usually held in the fall. To finish the year the Glee Club has a party in the music room and presents the officers for the following year.

The Reagan Choral Club, a group of. students who enjoy music, was or- ganized to give young men and women an opportunity to sing and to increase their musical background. Entrance requirements are as follows: a good voice, above average sight- reading ability, a genuine love for singing, and a spirit of cooperation. It is possible to have an audition with the director to join the club immediately with her approval. Directed by Miss Anna Marie Olson, the Choral Club has had the privilege of singing for many organizations, some of which included P.T.A., Houston Symphony Orchestra, Veterans' Hospital, Texas State Teachers' Association, and the men's Service Clubs in the Heights. The members also take part in assembly programs, Commencement exercises, the Baccalaureate Service, and Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter programs. They strive to put forth a message through every song, from the light humor- ous songs to the serious music of great composers, such as Bach and Handel, and the moving modern arrangements of Fred Warirrg.
