Speakers is wi- gg, vt . , A , y . c ww ,J W ie Forum The Speakers lforum, composed ot the mem- bers ot' the lixtemp and Debate classes, is un- der the sponsorship ol' Mr, il. R. Pappy Holcomb. Members of this organization par- ticipate in assembly programs, tivic programs, and tournaments. At the tournaments, various awards are made. Medals are given to winners in individual events, and trophies are awarded to the debate teams. During the past tall se- mester, six trophies have been won and thirty- four medals. Many benefits are gained by participating in the speech activities. Members not only im- prove their speech but also learn of turrent events and governmental policies and atitiairs. The making of new friends at the tournaments is also invaluable to the members. Members of the Speakers lforum often be- come members of the National liorensic League by acquiring service points eath time a pre- pared speech is given. The annual variety show, FORUM liOI.l.llfS, proved exceptionally successful this year. The proceeds of this event are used to finance the out-of-town tournaments. Officers are: President. Every member is encouraged to be faithful in attendance in order for this organization to be a success. The activities are as follows: the Thanksgiving project, the Christmas project, and the annual spring picnic.
