To the Class of 1951: Even though the world is in a state of unrest, there never was a time in its history when opportunities for success were more, or any greater, than they are today. All of you wish to achieve success. You can, if you go after it. lt will not come to you. Whatever you try to do in life, try with all your heart to do it well, and whatever you devote yourself to, de- vote yourself to it completely. Never believe that any natural ability can claim immunity from companionship of the steady, plain, hard-working quali- ties, and hope to gain its end. ln your struggle for success you will meet with some failures. When you do, remember that a failure, no matter how dismal it may make the future seem, doesn't mean the end. One of America's most successful men has well said that the best way to overcome a failure is to put it and all its re- minders into the oast, and then to attack an even greater challenge with a deeper determination to succeed. R. H. Williams
