When a student becomes a Senior, he is ex- posed to the work of government. This includes a variety of activities from legislative and legal speakers, to visits to the city hall. Senior Problems leads the students into the fields of elementary psychology, sociology, and applied economics. Vocational and educational guidance is also included. At the present time, Social Studies offers only one elective, International Relations. Field trips, speakers, films, panel discussions, mock elections and legislatures are among the devices which the Social Studies Department uses to achieve its chief goal, that of active and informed citizens. iw , V , gs, r i r l atherine Shaw Frank L. The academic math program is designed to prepare students for college, The first level is Algebra I and ll, which is essen- tial for continuing the course. After first-year Algebra, a stu- dent may go on to Algebra Ill and IV. There is also a one- year Geometry course, Trignometry, and a Math Analysis class. Those students wishing to go on have the opportunity of an accelerated math program, including Analytic Geometry, Solid Geometry, and an introduction to Calculus.
