It all began one fall morning in 1951, as the halls of John Graham echoed with the happy voices of students who were ready to begin a new year and ready to begin what seemed a new life--HIGH SCHOOL. Our freshman year was a long-spent and happy one. Miss McElrath and Mrs. Coleman, our homeroom teachers, were among the many teachers who tried to help us, guide us, and keep us from harm. Some of the boys and girls were initiated into the FHA and FFA, and a few of the boys played sports. The class of ’55 gradually moved up in position. Finally, we were sophomores. By this time we were studying complicated subjects such as biology and history. Some of our boys played football, basketball and baseball. A few of the girls also played basketball. Our homeroom teachers were Miss Parker and Mrs. Coleman. Bursting with joy and enthusiasm, we took our place as Juniors. Our class was well represented on the football, basketball and baseball teams. Some of our class were officers of the FFA, FHA, Student Council and Library Club. The most outstanding part in our junior year was the Junior-Senior. In spite of the headaches and hard work and other difficulties, we put on a good banquet. Our homeroom teachers were Mrs. Coleman and Mrs. Leete. Then in September, 1954, we took command as Seniors. We had been looking forward to being a senior for a long time and we were also looking forward to wearing our class rings. There was a lot of planning to be done. We had the Washington trip to plan, selection of cards and invitations, and putting on a senior play. During the past four years we have had many people who have helped us move forward. This year Mrs. Coleman and Mrs. Leete guided us through our work and down the aisle toward graduation. It has been a difficult climb, and we thank all for those who have helped us along the way.
