CLASS POEM The time has come for us to part, Though there is a longing within our hearts. We can not linger here nor stay; Each must go his own way. So it is with life from morn till eve, When the end shall come and we shall leave. Some gentle deed, jome act so kind That will linger long to bless mankind. Oh John Graham High, Dear John Graham High, Loyal we’ll ever be. We lift our hearts and voices In tribute and love to thee. We sing not of her beauty, But the record far and wide Of her nobles, sons and daughters, With just and honor pride. Her doctors, lawyers, teachers, Her governors, statesmen too, And the brave deeds her soldiers did Are decked with colors blue. It isn’t the big things that count so much, It’s the kindly deed, the human touch. The ones that have helped when we needed a lift, The things that we wanted they gave as a gift. If you are weary and tired and sad Do something for others and make them glad. Stick through your job through thick and thin, Turn all around and begin again. The world wasn’t made in just one day, There’s lots we can do on the rugged way. So let’s face the future with hope and cheer, And a thought of the.goal toward which we shall steer. Now we look behind at what we’ve done, The battles fought, the victories won. We rejoice at last that we’ve done our best, Now our talents will be put to the test. GLADYS JAMES Poet
