' ..., .. VARSITY BASKETBALL The Blue Devils had a highly successful season this year under the able leadership of Coach Fromhart. The varsity won the Duval County Junior High Championship for the first time in years. The Blue Devils also won the Duval County Junior High Tournament. The boys went to the Group 5, Class C, State Tournament at Bronson. They won the first game over Newberry High School, but lost the second game to Bronson High, due to the lack of experience. Every wih of the 29 out of 30 games was a team victory all of the way. The boys of the varsity displayed'hne sportsmanship and teamwork in every game. TOUCH FOOTBALL john Gorrie has had a very fine season winning four games and losing onne'f iThSegTeams beaten by G-orrie were Thomas Jefferson, Kirby Smith, also the only teams able to safe on the Blue Devils was Lakeshore, Thomas Jefferson. Lakeshore is the team that beat Gorrie, the final score of that game was 2-0. Many thanks to Coach 'McPhilomy for directing our team to its victories. 'e e ' -1 ---e--

TRACK John Gorrie has not had a very good season this year in track. The only thing Gorrie wins is the 880 yard relay, 440 yard relay, 100 yard dash, and the football'throw. VARSITY SOFTBALL -Gorrie will play several games this year against such schools as Oceanway, Central, Kirby-Smith, and Lakeshore. The Blue Devils are pretty strong in all departments. The pitching staff is a tiny 'bit weak due to the 'fact there are only two pitchers. Each of the players is expected to show nne quality.
