They will stand there until man is no more. The trees, the grass, the water. . . Streams, stand still waiting their final rocking. Russian men, Americans, too all cluttered the mountain plainsa A machine gun, a grenade, an atom bomb! A superfluous actl Now all is gone, except the mountains which stand erect Chance I grabbed for a dream and l missed. l had my chance. Sherry Klugh Now it's time we leave Our childhood behind And take a big step forward To live within our time. We are the next generation. The changes we will make Will teach the lifetime After us to learn by our mistakes We are getting older. Our youth becomes but dreams. Our journey of life takes us Miles away. No matter how close it seems We will soon have our families. We will live within our square. Dear God, don't let them take Our dreams. Dear God, don't let them dare. They thought you were a piece of trash, so you got dunked. You would say, l really did a lot of crazy things, I would. . HALLQWEEN , On Oct. 3l the John Glenn campus transformed into a meeting place for ghosts, monsters and weird looking peo- ple. This day marked the beginning of our I977 Homecoming spirit week. It brings love and laughter for now and ever after. No matter how close or far we see. California Magic will always be. Getting lost inside the fair: having so much fun you just don't care. Arguments you have to mend with the one who'II always be your friend. Growing older, falling in love, pure and sweet as a snow white dove, Getting married having children to mendt California Magic starts over again. Your children get older and move awayi you're left with nothing to do but sleep all day. Discussing the memories brings tears to your eyes of the magical moments of days gone by. HOMECOMING tty WEEK Le.: One week of the year students of John Glenn have a wonderful time celebrating Homecoming by dressing as children on Baby Day. This is when students check and see if they can still fit into their birthday suits. We also had Twin Day. Everywhere you looked you would see double. Look up in the skyl It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Super Hero Day. Students dressed as their favorite heroes. Red, white and blue day was a patriotic occasion. Everyone who participated had a heck of a time trying to get themselves down from the flag pole. 'ale our 1 . ,Ja ., 0 1.1! I think that it is a school with a lot of potential, uh, a lot of creativity in many of our student body. I've had the pleasure' of working with activities for many years and I am still surprised at the talent that comes my way. We've been lucky in our administration in the past few years and they work well with young people and they are always willing to listen. What do you think of violence on Television? The influence of violence on television is no greater than the influence in movies or newspaper or hear about on radio Violence is a part of life moreso than it was IO years ago and turning off the television lsn t going to stop the influence Influence comes from the home first, not television If you were able to change I thing at school what would you change? I strongly fell that in any modern civilization cultural influences are most Important If I had my way Fine Arts would be up there with Reading Writing and Rlthmetlc Every student should have to take I area each year In Fine Arts Without culture what do we have? What do you think of girls participating in boys sports? I think Il s great If they have the muscle and the will power then there is absolutely no reason why they shouldnt participate Equal opportunity IS very Important We should all have the chance to try anything we wish in competition What interests do you have outside of school to keep you motivated? My life seems to be surrounded by fine arts There s such a wide variety of things that interest me I love to travel I love the theatre and I like to draw Right now the only thing that I am doing to keep me occupied is trying to keep up my scratchboard etchlngs to fill the demand at the gallery that I display at in Laguna finish the yearbook get 2 shows on the road get a summer theatre going get my act together to get to save enough money to go to Europe next summer try my hand at enamellng Cagalnj and see enough theatre to satisfy myself Other than that I have all kinds of time to see friends and family The following comments are from the Editor to the Advisor PART 2 BOB EWING What do you think of John Glenn? I've been here for I3 years. I had my chance to leave last year, so I must obviously like Glenn. What do you think of violence on television? I think that it is alright after say 900 p m If you were able to change I thing at school what would you change? I wish that the counselors did not handle discipline What do you thlnk of girls participating on boys sports? If they can then go ahead But if boys tried out for the girls teams then there would be no girls If there are girls on boys teams and they make the team its ok What interests do you have outside of school to keep you motivated? lm a founder of the Vintage Auto Racing Association Its four years old I also edit e club news magazine DIANE DE JLILIO , z . . . . . . , . 1 .
