HOMECCMI NG week unites Eagles Homecoming Week started earlier than usual this year. It began on Sun- day, October 26, when students came forth to show their creative talents by helping to decorate the school with red, white, and blue streamers and put up signs honoring each of the five princesses. During the Week, each princess reigned as Princess of the Day. On Monday, the Sophomore class started off the week's activities with a muddy tug-of-war, which turned into a free for all, with as much mud on the winners as on the losers. iThe drains in the shower room were also filled with mudll On Tuesday, the juniors put on the apple-eating contest in the gym during lunch. Girls' League sold old- fashioned garters to the girls, to be forfeited to any boy with whom they talked. Every boy in the school tried to collect the most garters, thus prov- ing himself to be Mr, lrresistible. Wednesday, the student body dress- ed in school colors, crazy hats, and brought their cameras. Thursday the Senior girls put on quite a show by participating in the Powder Puff football game. It was Berry's Beauties vs. Bevie's Heaviesf' Kathy Pacheco led her team to victory by making the first and only touchdown of the game for Berry's Beauties. FRIDAY finally arrived . Sherri, joe, Steve, Cheryl and cake October 3'lst, so of course the activity was dress-up and costume day. During the pep rally, Clary Bell, who had collected seven garters, was an- nounced winner ot the Mr. Irresistible contest. A red garter with five dollars pinned to it and a heart shaped certifi- cate from Ciirls' League were presented by President Denise Rodriguez and Vice-President Cheryl Abney. After our pep squad led a few yells, football captains joe Kramer and Steve Van Wyhe were presented with a cake for the team by Head Song Sherri Fergu- son and Head Yell Cheryl Abney. The highlight of the assembly was the presentation of the Homecoming Princesses. The princesses, each filled with anxiety, had spend all week get- ting ready for this day, buying dresses and getting their hair done. Karen Watts, escorted by Ross Bogey, plans either to go to Cerritos College or to a business school.
