The Varsity Football team begins the season with a 14-20 loss to Evergreen, rebounding to Auburn 10-6. Head Coach Tom Merrill planning the plays carefully with Assistant Coaches Henry Mengarelli, Bob Bourgette, Mac MacDonald, Jim Nilson and Marty Yellam! Right break slant left MAKE A RUN FOR IT! Practice over for the day! Oh, those muscles, can you make it to the locker room? And those immortal words- Showers Men! Cheers can be heard from the stands Who's gonna win this game tonight??? WHO KNOWS??? I-It's-s co-old-d!!! But What's this? Such a close game ... a win! Yes, a win over Hazen, 19-9!!! What a comeback! Then, another exciting win over Lindbergh! It's the last game of the season already PITTER PATTER oh no!!! It's raining the field is slick! HUT!! HUT!! HUT!! What's happening??? Mouths hang open! The Lancers walk off the field in shock ... we loose??? Impossible! 54-O the mighty Lancers succumb to Kentridge! It appears that the Lancer Power has an ENERGY CRISIS in all that down pour!
