SUCCESSFUL YEAR PCR . .2 fha Christmas spirit was dramatically fportrayed this year in the Theatre Arts productionipresented in December. The 'S Gift of the Magif' and That's What I want for Christmas were the two plays present- ed by the class at the evening performance. Both plays came off with a definite flair for the dra- matic. In the Gift of the Magi the major roles were ,playedby Sarah Duquette, Ben Ovalle, and Kris- tine Garcia. In the second play, the characters were portrayed by iRit'a Paz, Gilbert Garcia, Vir- ginia Bautitsta, Veronica Villegas, Arcelio Ri- vera, Angela Barnett, and George Lopez. The entire class helped in the production of the plays, props, make-up, and costumes. In March, some members of this acting group were involved ,in the U.I.L. One Act Contest. Their performance of Sunday Costs Five Pesos was well received at this event. The production of these plays was under the direction of Ms. Patricia Zambrano. But when you think about itfsome of today's hairstyles far exceed those of the 60fsflinaexaggeration.Q i C0Wb0Y Mania In 1981 the ever popular and sexy, John Travolta, again inspired the fashion world with a style that swept the country like a raging fever. No longer were the flair-bottom slacks and silk shirts that he made famous in the late 70's the ultimate thing in fashion. Thiefrelease of the movie called Urban Cowboy set in ar0s.ea.a style that cluttered the fashion markets and brought the obscurewestern wear business back into demand. Record sales of cowboy hats, boots, jeans, and plaid shirts reached an all-time high. Western style bars and -clubs sprang up over nighttacross the coun- try, and bull riding was the macho-man's challenge.. On campuses across the nation, as also here at p thel shuffle wasthe highlight on the dance floor.
