More Latin Lovers L T The Latin Club's initiation of its new members marked the beginning of its year. They were fashionably welcomed with a style reminiscent of Caesar. The height of the cIub's cultural encounters was their attend- ance of the opera, Tosca. Caught up in ' the Christmas spirit of good will, the Latin Club put their efforts into a aww candy sale. The proceeds were sent to an orphanage that the club has been aiding for I5 years. To conclude the year, members held the Latin and French clubs' picnic where all had the chance to reveal their culinary talents. w X 1 , swf, . t1 Row li Linda Hopkins, Michael Hing, Charla Yakabe, Amy Chan, Fay Chan, Nancy Quan, Laura Chun, Tami Nishikawa, Mrs. Tornabene. The Spanish Club, as usual, had another rewarding year. Besides selling goods to raise money, the Spanish Club took a trip to the Defense Language Institute at Pre- sidio of Monterey. There the club participated in classroom demon- strations, viewed displays of differ- ent cultures, enjoyed international entertainment, and tryed a variety of ethnic foods. This year's Spanish Club was led by Lily Wong, its president. The group would like to thank their sponsor, Mrs. Maher, for a very successful year. You may even be whisked away into the island paradise of Sardinia. All of these fantasies are possible thanks to AFS.
