Tres Chic .QW- 'Nw Culture, cuisine, and charity all come together in the French Club. Highlights for their year included lunch at Bon Appetit, and Tosca, an experience in opera. While keeping in the holiday spirit with their tradi- tional sale of candy canes, members also raised money for an orphanage in Europe. These Christmas wishes were especial- ly welcomed by the orphans who were in the process of rebuilding their home. In the Spring, the French Club's spirit flew high at the annual French-Latin picnic. which was enjoyed by all who attended. I9O German Club Konnen Wir Deutsch Lernen? The German Club, under the leadership of Jody Chan, explored many aspects of German culture. The members sold German candies throughout the year in order to finance parties during which they were able to sample various German delicacies, which they soon found to be their favorite aspect of German culture. The Spanish Club, as usual, had another rewarding year. Besides selling goods to raise money, the Spanish Club took a trip to the Defense Language Institute at Pre- sidio of Monterey. There the club participated in classroom demon- strations, viewed displays of differ- ent cultures, enjoyed international entertainment, and tryed a variety of ethnic foods. This year's Spanish Club was led by Lily Wong, its president. The group would like to thank their sponsor, Mrs. Maher, for a very successful year.
