Once again, the John F. Kennedy Marching Band and Color Guard had a spectacular season. Under the direction of Mr. Nicholas Angiulo and Drum Major David Mott, the band won Grand Sweepstakes at Del Oro. in Eugene, Oregon and in Los Angeles. They also won music sweepstakes, marching, and maneuvering sweepstakes, and showmanship sweepstakes at the various competitions. This summer the band will compete in Edmonton, Canada and participate in concerts and parades. Congratulations to the band for an undefeated year and good luck on your summer tour. 162 Band

This year the JFK Marching Band was under the leadership of Drum Major David Mott and his assistant Ralph Nevis. These two field conductors work together to lead the one hundred and sixty band members during field show and parade competitions. They also direct the pep band during football and basketball games, and spirit rallies. Both David and Ralph have given the band a lot of time and dedication. David was last year's assistant drum major and was in the trombone section during his sophomore year. He has been in the Jazz Band the past two years. Ralph has also been in the Jazz Band for the past two years. He was in the saxophone section as a sophomore and will be next year's drum major.
