ouiaieixl UF HEARTS On a warm autumn evening at Handel Stadium, cheers could be heard from ev- ery direction as the anxious and excited finalists rode up in sleek convertible cor- vettes. As they stepped up on the decorat- ed platform, silence overtook the crowd. Thousands of anxious faces patiently awaited the magical words contained in the envelope. The long awaited moment finally arrived. As the announcers excited voice boomed saying, The 1983 Home- coming Queen is Julie Guevara. Screams and cries were witnessed as Julie Guevara stepped forward to be crowned by last year's returning alumni Mari Chekel. Page 18 Homecoming The Homecoming court of 1983 con- sisted of ton the opposite pagey Fresh- men Princess Chris Clammer, Sopho- more Princess Jenny Waldkirch, Junior Princess Alane Azevedo, Queen Julie Guevara, and Senior Princesses Kris Evans and Kandace Smith. After a victorious game against Esper- anza, a homecoming dance, the Queen of Hearts, was staged for this year's new homecoming court and the entire student body. With a beautiful homecoming court, an exciting game, and a spectacular dance, these two nights were truly mo- ments to remember. 1
