Wrestling The men of Coach Phil Cantanzaro were once again untouchable in match competition, compiling a perfect 12-0 record and extending their three year winning streak to 42 straight. They also captured their third straight PVC title along with the PVC Christmas Tournament. Co-captains Vic Hargett and Nelson Hayspell both advanced through the districts and regional tournaments. ln the State Tournament both wrestlers were defeated in tough matches. Other outstanding wrestlers included Mike Arce, Bill Neil, and john Williams whose steady performances proved to be invaluable to the team. Track and Cross Country The 1973 Track Team under the direction of Coach jesse Dale has a very impressive record. The team was led by the senior sprinters, Tom McCollum, Ralph Rogers, and Karl Mix. Also starring for the team were pole vaulters, Al Kormesser, and Sergio Avila and discus and shot putter, Chris Casimos. The team was in running for its first PVC title. The Cross Country team, led by senior Robert Spencer and a host of talented underclassmen, captured its first PVC title this past season after a lackluster duel meet record.
