Mr. Henry Z wi erzchowski Assistan t Principal Each individual is entitled to his own opinion and has differ- ent interests. Here at John F. Kennedy, we try to fulfill these needs with a variety of social and athletic activities, in addition to our curriculum . Involvement in school and its activities has a lasting effect. Knowledge once gained can never be taken from an individ- ual, it makes a lasting impression. This impression is what helps an individual to grow, it helps him see a more vivid picture of his surroundings, one may say a picture in color. A student who does not get involved and does not carry one of his interests through is shutting knowledge out. He tends to take a darker outlook on life, you may say he sees things in black and whitej We should all take advantage of the opportunities given to us. We may add to our friendships, win meets and trophies, and find that one day time has taken all these things away from us. If we think about it though, time can never really take these things away because they will always be near in our memories. Opening ourselves to different interests leaves us something very special in return, the joys of a lifetime full of color and its full appreciation. Mr Henry Andrzejewski, Principal Color is one of the most exciting aspects of life. It is the spice that turns a dull day into a pleasant experience. Color or the lack of it influences our outlook and reaction to daily experience. To appreciate the values of color we must approach life with an open mind - eager to take in as much of the experience as possible. Here at John F, Kennedy, the student that is a real PHII of school life - the active participant - is treated to a life of color. He is caught up in a rainbow of activity - academic, athletic, and social. He learns to appreciate his fellow stu- dents and to help them when and where his help is needed. He is a part of the life of the school and learns to appreciate the excitement and dynamism of his high school life. Those of you who find school life dark and dismal andwboring are part of the inactive group. You have cheated yourself of the exciting experience of participating in the kaleidescope of school activity. You may have acquired the education you sought, but you have neglected the other sides of your per- sonality. You have failed to appreciate the exhilaration of belonging and being involved in the total life of school expe- rience. You have confined yourself to the gloom and left the color, and excitement of life to others.
