He is a person who is also the chief executive officer of an educational institution. The graduating class of 1974 has been fortunate in that our principal has been a man who has answered this definition in every sense of the word. As chief officer of our educational institution he has provided us with an atmosphere in which we have been able to express ourselves to fullest possible extent. Therefore, we dedicate the 1974 FORUM to you, HENRY ANDRZEJEWSKI 13 A MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT The graduates this year are being cast into a society that lacks trust and faith in many of the levels of government or in fact all forms of authority. lt is an unprecedented attitude that has swept the country and if not revised could undermine the very foundation upon which our nation was built. What is needed is a rebirth of integrity and responsibility in all persons. The time has come that all of us drop the cloak of indifferences and the cliche that all politics are dirty and get involved in the many facets of government. It is my hope that we as teachers in coniunction with your parents have through examples and instruction built into you the necessary qualities that you will be responsible and involved citizens of our nation. It is my prayer that you will succeed where we have failed and the nation will once again regain their faith and trust in our government. He is a member of the Curriculum Council and works with the faculty and guidance in scheduling students to ensure that their curriculum will meet their individ- ual needs. Mr. Andrzeiewski meets with the School Board and various other com- munity groups because he realizes that a school is an extension of the community in which it exists. Mr. Andrzeiewski, as the principal, organizes the operation of the school to reflect his opinion that the school exists for the students. Mr. Henry Z wierzchowski Vice-Prin cipal Mr. Zwierzchowski, the vice-principal, does more than assist Mr. Andrzeiewski in the operation of the school. He interprets and enforces the disciplinary policies of our school. As a mediator for student problems, he attempts to assist all parties involved in reaching an equitable and edu- cationally sound resolution of the conflict. Realizing the need for good communi- cation between the school and the commu- nity, Mr. Zwierzchowski attends P.T.A. meetings and parent conferences to inter- pret and explain the school, its curriculum, and new and unusual programs and facili- ties. If English Under the direction of Miss Suzanne Hartke, the new department chairwoman, the lan- guage arts department is revising its present curriculum to give greater opportunity for indi- vidualization. The teachers in this department recognize that individuality, creativity, and imagination play a great part in each student's command of language arts skills. They use the study of literature to expand the horizons of the students. A new course, Drama, has been added to the language arts curriculum this year. This course is designed to enable students to better understand the various aspects of the drama and to be able to express themselves. Lawrence Schull 1 5 2 it .
