Flying the Grumman-built F- l4, their mission is to intercept and destroy enemy aircraft in all weather conditions. ln addi- tion, it is tasked with conducting air-to-air and air-to-surface attack operations with conventional weapons. , .lr HS-7 Shamr0cks The Sikorsky SH-3l-l Sea King is the first helicopter specifically designed for Anti- Submarine Warfare. The helicopter with its crew of two pilots and two aircrewmen is one of the Navy's premier ASW platforms. It is capable of landing on ships as small as frigates or hovering over any size ship or boat to transfer cargo or refuel in flight. r--,. ..
