FOREWORD In September of 1942, the door of john Edwards School opened for the first time for 13 small, bewildered children. This was the beginning of an entirely new and different world for us. We have tried to use our school years to the best advantage as we have progressed from year to year. Now, some 14 years later, we again stand at that same door and wait for it to open, only this time as we pass through, we realize that it is closing for us for the last time. We are leaving behind these closed doors, memories which we shall cherish for years to come. Doors of further learning shall open for some, while for others this will be their Last phase of formal education. This PAPYRUS is our record of school life of 1955-1956. In the following pages we have tried to give you a book of remembrance. As you look through its pages, we hope you will find interest in them. And in future years when the hand of time has moulded our lives, may the memories it brings still be of pleasure. CLASS MOTTO The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer. DEDICATION We, the Senior Class of 1956, wish to dedicate our Papyrus to Mr. Almgren, who has spent much time during the past twenty years directing the printing of our annuals. He has made programs and tic- kets for our clubs, concerts, and dances, and helped print our school newspaper. Due to his kind and thoughtful help we have been able to publish this Papyrus . We thank him for the time he has given to make this annual a success.
