On Tuesday, October 17, an earthquake shook the San Francisco Bay area. It was the biggest quake there since 1906 killing 67 people, not to mention the S7 billion dollars worth of damage. The long range effects of such a disaster were felt in for the victims in California. Tempe when the PSAT Arizona sent her coastal booklets were delayed neighbors 300 tons of coming out of San supplies. Earth Day was an appropriate celebration for Tempe. For the past two years, an ambitious pilot program to recycle glass, aluminum and newspapers from 2,000 households in designated areas of Tempe has been Biology students from Corona del Sol pile into a Volkswagen to demonstrate effective carpooling and to have some fun at Kawanis Park on Earth Day. going on successfully. An auction was held during Spring Week to raise money for the senior class. Seniors were auctioned to the student body on Monday, and on Friday their 'masters' had them at their mercy for the entire day. V' 'Enchantment Under the Sea' was the romantic theme of the backwards PROM. The dance was girl ask guy and casual with each couple wearing matching outfits. Jenifer Dillon and Shane O'Grady had their stripes perfectly coordinated for MORP. A tropical paradise! Prom '90 was held in the Monarch Ballroom at the Mesa Hilton Pavilion on April 28. Scott Lossmann and Seanelle Estrella enjoy a relaxing moment during the activity filled night. Confetti, balloons and palm trees added to the festive atmosphere. ,gg
